A second conviction will move one of the people responsible for Pop Smoke’s killing out of the juvenile system and into adult custody. Deijae Devon Jester, who was 15 when the Brooklyn rapper was fatally shot during a 2020 home invasion, was sentenced Thursday (August 13) to four years after pleading no contest in a fentanyl case tied to the juvenile facility where he was being held. Jester, now 21, admitted to possessing 25 fentanyl-laced pills that prosecutors say his mother, Nickia Randall, tried to pass to him during a December 2025 visit at Barry J.
